Whatsapp Policy requires the sender to obtain specific consent for sharing Whatsapp messages. During sign up, we are able to collect the Whatsapp Number but their is no option to collect opt-in for Whatsapp. So there is a chance for my account to be blocked if I send Whatsapp messages through a third party Whatsapp API

The ability to collect WhatsApp consent is available now. You can easily add a consent checkbox during the signup process to ensure compliance and better communication with your learners. Currently, there is no option to create a checkbox field on the signup form that allows users to either select or deselect an option. Adding this feature would be highly beneficial for various use cases, such as obtaining user consent for receiving newsletters, WhatsApp messages, and other communications.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce a checkbox field type in the custom signup fields, enabling users to easily provide their consent by selecting or deselecting the checkbox.
Use Cases:-
- Newsletter Subscription: Users can opt-in to receive newsletters by selecting the checkbox.
- WhatsApp Messages: Users can provide consent to receive WhatsApp messages by selecting the checkbox.
- Terms and Conditions: Users can confirm that they have read and agreed to the terms and conditions by selecting the checkbox.
This feature will enhance the flexibility and usability of the signup form, providing a straightforward method for capturing user consent for various communications.

Pls see the following para in the above policy. Point (b) requires explicit opt-in to receive whatsapp messages
"You may only contact people on WhatsApp if: (a) they have given you their mobile phone number; and (b) you have received opt-in permission from the recipient confirming that they wish to receive subsequent messages or calls from you on WhatsApp
The opt-in must clearly state that the person is opting in to receive messages and/or calls from you over WhatsApp and clearly state your business' name.
You are solely responsible for determining the method of opt-in, that you have obtained opt-in in a manner that complies with laws applicable to your communications, and that you have otherwise provided notices and obtained permissions that are required under applicable law. "
